I have been trying to come up with words that may offer you consolation, but it seems that all I can do is to let you know that there are many of us who have not forgotten you, and we hope and pray that you receive direct consolation from God as you persevere to receive your reward in Heaven. Haley,

I want you to know that as a layperson, I have undergone the same types of attacks that you and others have been subjected to because you are willing to face the homosexual problem of the diocese(s). It has been viscous. Along with putting the stops to me gaining employment in the area (their influence is strong and the networking is widespread), I have withstood a backlash in areas I would never have expected. To make a long story short, the Lord has gotten me through this.
Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1685512665905007703.post-61244125929266519502015-12-04T09:27:50.512-08:002015-12-04T09:27:50.512-08:00Father Haley,

In Confession, you were understanding and empathetic. Your advice during my crisis was spot-on and consoling. You truly had a vocation, and lived it well. I am both saddened and indignant by your situation, and will continue to pray that your faith is not affected by those who chose some other agenda. Remember, right is right if nobody's right; wrong is wrong if everybody's wrong. In this situation, I believe you were right, and God knows they were wrong. I cannot begin to tell you how many of your homilies continue to ring out in my mind . . . the most recent example is from the snowstorm we had last week when I couldn't help but think of your words, "When you're wondering how you will make it to Mass because of bad weather, just ask yourself if you'd be able to get there if you heard that the priest was going to hand out a million dollars to every parishioner who arrived." So, needless to say, we think of you very often and pray that you are well. May God bless you and keep you. Please pray for us too; Lyle and I have four children, ages 21, 19, 16 and 11, and we celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary this year on April 9. You baptised our two oldest children and you held our 1 month old son on the altar while you gave a pro-life sermon in 1989. We moved to Wyoming in 1994 and have 5 children. We have been trying to follow your case online for many years. We were stunned and very saddened. You are one of the greatest priests we have ever met. I learned about you while looking online for reports of sex abuse in the Arlington Diocese where I grew up. I wanted to know if anything had ever been going on with priests/nuns at St. Michael's. And then I find an article by a former Altar boy at St. Michael's who apparently went through the same kind of pain I did there and read all about you. I wish you well and will pray for you and if anyone knows who the altar boy was who wrote that article, I sure would like to know. With all that's happening with the sexual abuse scandal in the Church today - April 24, 2010, I do hope and pray a great moral and spiritual tsunami sweeps across the Atlantic and cleans out the Catholic Church in the U.S.A. soon. Then I read a few years ago somewhere on-line that it's always taken 40-50 years of confusion after every Council to get the implementation right. I was finally so heartened. And then I see this homosexual infestation in the Church and her hierachy, and start to wonder if I should ever confess to a priest again after reading about Fr. Haley's experiences, and then take heart - it may take 100 years, but this too will be fixed, just like we're starting to seeing the end of the protestant reformation - a sad result of the internal infestation that was allowed as well for too long. We will keep the faith dear Father.

They pass whistleblower rules/laws because whistleblowers get killed regardless...so have the evidence expose itself to a goodly group of people who'll make hay about it and let the light in and the enemy out that way. Shortly after, my husband and I moved our family to Indiana where my husband's family lived. Two years later I was widowed, and two years later, we moved to Dolores, Colorado where my parents lived. And we were completely oblivious. Yet, I remember you Fr. Haley and while you may not remember me, your sermons were always on such a deeply profound level. I don't think anyone who has ever met you could forget you. I think you made all of us look at our souls more closely. You disheartened me once when I embraced communion for the first time after being denied for many years,- I cried. No, I sobbed. I wouldn't know what you meant until now.
