Ireland and the Child Abuse Problem
Secrecy and cover-up were the rule of the day in Ireland just like they were here. There is no place for unnecessary secrecy in the Church. As long as secrecy is the modus operandi of the hierarchy (along with clericalism that aspires to be served rather than to serve) the flock will continue to suffer and the battered bride of Christ will be held in contempt by the world. Pray that Christ will raise up saintly reformers. See my post at Les Femmes.
